Relevant Skills
I am a very enthusiastic Vet, with a large experience (almost 25 years) in large animal reproduction, mares, stallions, high quality semen freezing, Embryo Transfer, Ovum Pick up and Embryo freezing.
I am capable of working on my own initiative and at the same time I am a good team player. Since after my graduation I’ve been always working in a group.
I am always really enthusiastic and ready to new projects, researches and data collections. I like to travel. I’ve been many times outside of my Country for Job purposes.
I have dedicated most of my life to the reproduction in the last few years mainly on Assisted Reproductive Technique.
Since 2019 I am member of the ECAR Examination Committee and in 2023 I obtained my Diploma in Physiopathology of reproduction in domestic animals (SSFPRAD) at The University of Messina con Lode.
Work experience
From March 2019 till now: veterinary resident at KEROS insemination and Embryo Transfer Center. Mainly in charge for embryo flushing and transfers. Keros is the biggest embryo transfer center in Europe, performing more than 1000 ET a year. Keros is an official ET and semen production center approved by Belgian and European authorities. At the moment, Keros runs a herd of 1700 recipient mares. Owning these significant number of animals requires a well-organized management plan, and a large amount of space. Keros count with several farms in a radio of 20 km. I am also in charge for the transfers of all the embryos produced by ICSI.
From April 2016 till September 2018: Veterinary Resident at Broline International (Sweden).Every year around 250 mares are inseminated with fresh, chilled or frozen semen. The farm has also 6 resident stallions.
Responsible mainly for semen collection, mares management, foaling.
From March 2015 till March 2016:
Veterinary at Avantea s.r.l, Reproduction Technology lab.
Avantea is a laboratory of advanced technologies for biotechnology research and animal reproduction.
The activity of this laboratory began in 1991 with Cesare Galli and Giovanna Lazzari. In 2008 it became Avantea Srl, inheriting all the skills and expertise built in about twenty years of activity and the know-how developed through years of research conducted in the biomedical and animal reproduction fields. Credibility and experience make Avantea a reliable and highly specialized center, which aims to find innovative solutions in the field of reproductive biotechnology for livestock breeding and biomedicine.
Avantea research activity is assessed by an independent Ethics Committee, which includes leading experts in animal health and welfare, bioethics, genetics, law and forensic medicine and it is in agreement with the guidelines for the application of Article 48 of the Ethics Code of the National Federation of Italian Veterinarians.

From March 2013 till march 2015: Assistant Professor in Equine Reproduction at Utrecht University working 70% of the time at the clinic (A.I, E.T., OPU) and 30% teaching and research. At the department every year, more or less, 400 stallions are submitted for semen collection and evaluation, mares are referred for all the reproductive problems and emergencies; breeding more than hundred mares every year with frozen and chilled semen is one of the activities of the clinic as well. The Embryo Transfer program is done with 50-100 donor mares and 150 recipients owned by the department. The chief of the department is Prof. Tom Stout.
From 2005 till 2013: he has been a partner Vet for Select Breeders Services Italia, a veterinary practice that took over Studio Veterinario Cristella.
