Dr. Rebecca Bishop is a clinical instructor and postdoctoral research associate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She received her DVM from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017, followed by a rotating internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center. From there she went on to the University of Illinois where she completed an equine surgery internship, Master’s degree in Veterinary Clinical Medicine, and an equine surgery residency. Her primary clinical and research interests include improving diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disease in horses through application of high-throughput sequencing technologies to elucidate molecular mechanisms of gastrointestinal disease and identify novel diagnostic markers and/or therapeutic targets.
