Maria Terese Engell is an equine veterinarian, and researcher and founder of Rider In Balance. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest and did her PhD in horse-rider interaction at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in 2018. Her professional journey includes roles as an equine practitioner at Bjerke Equine Veterinary Clinic and Norwegian University of veterinary medicine, NMBU's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, as well as research positions at both the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. Today, Maria Terese operates her own Equine clinic in Norway, specializing in lameness and rehabilitation. Through Rider In Balance, she strives to elevate knowledge, health, welfare, and performance within equestrian communities worldwide. Renowned for her unparalleled expertise in biomechanics, she has worked with top athletes across all disciplines, providing invaluable insights into enhancing riding technique and optimizing horse-rider partnerships.
